Show: World of Jenks Episode(s): Heaven and Hell Genre: Reality Starring: Andrew Jenks, Maino Network: MTV Airdate/Time: September 13, 2010 10:00pm Rating: () Grade: B+ The World of Jenks is a documentary series revolving around Andrew Jenks, a filmmaker set on experiencing life in every way possible by living for one week in the shoes of others. The first episode has Jenks engrossed in the life of a rapper, thanks to temporary mentor, Maino. The episode immediately takes him on a plane to Miami to experience the life as Maino performs and, seemingly most important, parties after. Jenks and Maino go on a double date as Maino attempts to teach Jenks the intricacies of picking up girls. After a brief and almost scary altercation which sees Maino on top of Jenks with his hands around his neck, the two head to inner Brooklyn to see where Maino came from. The people and experiences are enlightening and shed light on a lifestyle that is often depicted as being filled with gang violence and drugs. A great premiere episode starts of this show on a high note. The second episode is decent though not nearly as good as the first. Jenks jumps into the life of the homeless (or "houseless" as they apparently prefer to be called). The girl he follows isn't nearly as relatable as Maino in the first episode as she sometimes comes off as ungrateful though when Jenks and her make a trek back to her home, you can see why she hasn't had the easiest life. The World of Jenks could easily become redundant and boring depending on where it goes but it also has the potential of becoming a great and poignant show, and possibly even an important learning tool for the rest of us that are used to our single world.
