Thomas the Tank Engine and his friends from the island of Sodor are quintessential entertainment for kids (at least, a certain segment of kids). These locomotive characters travel about Sodor, transporting people and goods from place to place, while learning about how to cooperate and help each other out. It’s not rocket science, but it makes for a kind-hearted kids’ show. My daughter (3 years-old) isn’t the biggest fan, but your kids might absolutely love it.

A word to the wise: This particular collection doesn’t offer anything new. It’s merely a new repackaging of three previously available DVDs: Holiday Express, Merry Winter Wish, and Ultimate Christmas. I’m usually not a fan of these sorts of sets since they don’t provide any new content. But if you don’t already own any of these DVDs, then this isn’t a bad way to get them all in one fell swoop. At almost three hours of Thomas, this is a decent amount of bang for your buck.

Obviously this is timed perfectly for the Christmas season, so if you’ve got some little ones in your home who love Thomas, this isn’t a bad way to go to keep them happy.
