Mirémonos is a band that hails from Spain, though their lead singer was brought up in the US, and their style is centered in the Indie scene with some subtle influences elsewhere. In 2009 they released a 3 song EP titled Kaizen, which you can stream or download for free at the bands bandcamp page (check the links) but since hasn’t released any new material, until now.

Jägermeister is a single track, for now, which brings the band back out into the open with an energetic, emotionally charged song about desolation. It’s a great, catchy tune from the band that manages to keep your toe tapping and a sense of familiarity grabbing your attention and pulling you in. I’ve personally replayed the track over and over more then two dozen times trying to put my finger on what it is about the songs structure that reminds me of something else. Eventually it hit me, the song sounds like it could easily have come from the band The Walkmen. That’s not to say Mirémonos are plagiarizing other bands or anything, but the truth is the Indie genre is completely oversaturated with bands being buried by what seems like an endless barrage of new Indie bands. Eventually the new and the old merge a bit. In any case Jägermeister holds up as a track with a formula that lets it stand on its own two feet. A bit soft in the lyrical department, nothing we haven’t heard before from any number of angst driven teen rock bands, but an enjoyable song just the same.

Again both Kaizen, the band previous EP, and the single for Jägermeister can be found at the bands Bandcamp page so be sure to follow the link provided and listen to both, and if you like come back here and post your own opinion on the bands sound in our comments section. As always final judgment is yours. Enjoy.
