Yes, it's on this none-more-punny date that George Lucas and team have chosen to announce that the already-planned Star Wars Blu-ray will be released on September 12 around the world and September 16 in the US. The whole thing will be in spiffy hi-def and 6.1 DTS surround sound, obviously, but there's no mention of any alternative versions of the films, which will disappoint the theatrical-cut purists.
