On his newest single "I Will Love You," Nashville singer-songwriter Cal Ecker delivers a heart-on-sleeve declaration of longing beneath a sea of plucked strings, hushed backing vocals, and arena-ready guitars.
"It’s about making someone believe in you, which is completely universal.” Ecker said. "In my case, I had the hardest time trying to convince this girl I had been dating for a while to stay with me through all of the shows and touring."
1. How tall are you?
I am 6'2" tall. I always wanted to be as tall as my dad (he's 6'4"), but my mom, who is 4'11", killed that dream! I guess I'll take my 6'2" and run with it.
2. Do you prefer marshmallows or hot dogs on a camp fire?
I prefer hot dogs over marshmallows at a campfire any day. I'm not much of a sweet tooth anyways. I once ate 12 hot dogs at a campfire one time - that's gotta be some kind of record.
3. Describe your dream person?
My dream person would have to be a beautiful girl that can sing, loves sports, loves me, and gives me all of her attention, including head rubs whenever needed.
4. Is it worse to be hungry or thirsty?
I think it is worse to be thirsty than hungry. I have experienced some pretty bad cotton mouth in my day and almost choked on my tongue from it.
5. You can tell a lot about a person from their:
I feel you can tell a lot about a person from their eyebrows. Weird I know, but its true. Pay attention to this, let me know if you think its true.
6. What side of the bed do you sleep on?
I always sleep on the left side of the bed allowing my right arm to hold whatever may be there, pillows, my dog, etc... Plus my alarm clock and phone charger are on the left side.
7. Have you ever had a surgery?
I have never had surgery and hope it never happens, knock on wood, I don't think I'm cut out for going under the knife, ha!
8. Quick or strong?
In the battle of quick and strong, though I hate to admit I'm not the strongest man in the world, I'd say I've been known for my quickness. I'm pretty sure I nicknamed myself "speedy" at some point when I was a little kid.
9. What was the hardest thing about trying to break into the music industry?
I've been trying to break in to the music biz for a while. It hasn't really happened in a big way yet, but I'm working towards that day!
10. When will fans get to see your video for "I Will Love You"?
Fans should be able to see my first music video of our debut single "I Will Love You", starting on August 22 (the single will be released digitally worldwide on August 30). Cant wait for y'all to see it! Hope you like it as much as I do!
